What happened in Cologne at the MCR show...

I know lots of you are wondering what happened, well, here is the story.

It's a long one ;)

Let's start at the beginning... there once was... an online music community/TV channel called Taste iT TV... I started this up a year ago and I've always wanted it to be something more then a TV channel, I wanted it to help people, to make people feel good about themselves and basically just make this world a better place. Why? Well after all, isn't this why we listen to music? To find comfort, to make us smile, to inspire us? So that's the basic idea... that is also why our interviews are sometimes serious, or sometimes completely absurd and funny, it's just about emotion and feelings. It's by no means perfect, not at all, but with our very limited budget and time, we try our best and in May/June, it's already going to become lots more what we want it to be!

So why not? Why are almost all current TV channels focussing on the music itself and never the WHY of why we listen to it? And why are they almost all promoting to be cool, to fit in, to follow the trends? I know now, especially after Tuesday, that I do NOT want to be a part of that. The only thing I want is make this world a better place where people don't have to pretend to be something they are not. Honestly, after what happened to me on Tuesday, I know that this is what I have to do, I don't care any more what people think, allt he negative comments on Youtube, all the set backs all those things... they mean nothing! I felt myself what effect a friendly act can have on someone and if I can give that to others and hopefully also encourage people to be themselves and to just respect others, well, then it's all worth it!

Ok but I'm carrying on... I'll get to the point...

So along came, My Chemical Romance... I don't have to tell you what impact they have, you all know! To me, they honestly are the best band in the world. Why? Because of how they make me feel. And I know lots of you feel the same! That is why, we have been trying so damn hard to get an interview with them. Believe me! We had such a hard time trying to make this happen.

The day before I left to Colgone, I got an email saying 'interview cannot happen'. Most of the time, I am a positive person, but when I read that, honestly, it felt like all the energy just got drained from my body. Why couldn't they just understand that this would be the best thing for all of us? For our viewers, for the fans, for the people who haven't discovered them... it's not our numbers, Taste iT TV has lots a loyal viewers and also we (thx to all people who work at Taste iT TV) had contact soooo many other e-zines, magazines,... to republish the interview. Basically we put so much effort into this, it was just such a dissapointment!

So we left for Cologne at 4.00 AM (yeah, we wanted a good spot ;) and I was feeling a little sad to say the least... but when we got there, I figured, why not make a sign, give it one last shot. I know it is not professional at all, but I thought, screw it... so we made a sign that said: 'Do a fucking interview with Taste iT TV' and then another one: 'Please' and then another one: 'We have chocolats' and then another one with a smiley face on there. After waiting a whole day in the cold and actually having fun, because I got to meet some great friends again! We manged to be on the first row. Of course I chickened out with the sign... I wanted to but sometimes I can be such a sissy... but thx to my friends who gave me a mental push, we held it up, infront of us.

I think it was up about half a song... then security told us to put it down... but... and I sitll can't believe what happened next...

At the end of the song, Gerard started talking to me, he said (and I don't remember the exact words, cause it was kinda overwhelming...., but here goes...): 'Hey, are you that girl who has been taking those amazing pictures? At the US show and in the UK and stuff?'. I nodded, he continued: 'So you want an interview?' I nodded again (by this time with a big smile on my face and probably a face as red as a tomato) he went on: 'you're not gonna ask me anything about beer, right? Or anything about American Idol right?' I replied by shaking my head and my 'of course not, don't be stupid Gee' look, but still with a smile on my face which by now probably went from tomato to chili pepper color... then he turned around and while walking accross the stage, he said: 'well, you got the job, Honey!'

That moment, was really the best moment in my life! It was amazing, I can not describe how much that meant to me. All negative feelings ebbed away and were replaced by happiness, inspiration, energy! Thanks to Gerard! So you see, dreams can come true, just never ever give up and work your ass off!

I got taken backstage, where I was able to the interview... but this is for another time, I need to get to work now... but at least you already know what happened!!! :)
