About kayestyles

DREAMS DO COME TRUE Kaye Styles, born in Ghana - 8th November 1981 - immigrated with his parents from West Africa to Belgium (Europe) at the age of 5. It was the start of a difficult time and journey for this little child. His parents got deported from Belgium and Kaye had to live hidden for 3 years without getting official papers from the government. Not only his color was different, also the way of living in Europe wasn’t easy for this young African child. After these 3 years his parents got the permission to live in Belgium but Kaye stayed officially with his foster parents until his 18th birthday. It was his positive attitude combined with his passion for music that kept young Kaye going. Music was his way of escaping the world, his way of communicating and reaching other people.

In his teener years Kaye (his friends called him ‘K’ short for Kwasi) started to go out at parties and clubs and noticed that some dj’s brought an mc with them. Kaye saw it wasn’t only the music that got the party started, also the mc contributed his share and people were responding to what he was saying. He felt that this was his thing to do. So

kaye combined mc’ing, rapping and singing with his silky voice and people couldn’t believe what they were hearing. Was it really this young man doing all this besides the dj? Most of them thought it was a record spinnin’ … People who frequently visited clubs where Kaye was performing started asking him how it was possible that he was combining different kind of ‘STYLES’ while giving it his unique touch. Kaye Styles reputation started to grow quickly and strongly in the underground scene …..

After performing at a club of a friend, Kaye started to realise that he could become more than a mc, that he could achieve more by writing and composing his own songs. At the age of 22 Kaye recorded his first demo song ‘Crazy’. The first record company, Mostiko (Cnr Records), a major record label in Europe, immediately recognized Kaye’s talent and offered him a 5 album deal. Kaye started now recording his own songs with professional producers and engineers. 3 months later, the summer of 2004, Kaye flew to Los Angeles to shoot his first videoclip ‘Gimme the mic’. 'Gimme the mic' became a top 20 European Billboard hit and people wanted to hear more from this new artist. Kaye’s first album titled ‘True Definition of Styles’ saw the light in October 2004. The record company released 2 other singles of the 'true definition of styles' album and they both reached the top 50 billboard. Kaye Styles started touring all over Belgium, Holland, Germany, France and Morocco, reaching and touching fans in places he never dreamed off. He got nominated for the 1st time on the MTV Belgian music awards 2004 for best R&B .

January 2005 Kaye Styles released his 1st single, called ‘Profile’, of his second album, after performing it live at the Belgian Eurovision Contest in front of a million TV viewers. Everybody knew that ‘Profile’ would become a massive hit. ‘Profile’ single sales went through the roof and it entered the billboard charts at Nr. 3 and stayed there for 10 weeks. Mai 2005 Kaye Styles released his 2nd album ‘It iz what it iz’ and contained the singles ‘Profile’, ‘Maria Bonita’ and ‘Safe Sex’. 'Safe sex' was made to make young people aware of Aids ( Kaye was the mentor for the South African Campaign against Aids). Maria Bonita and Safe Sex became top 20 billboard hits. He got nominated for the 2nd time on the MTV Belgian music awards, Best Urban Breakthrough artist 2005.

Still the best was yet to come. In the beginning of 2006 Kaye received a phone call from the U.S television group Fox asking if Kaye would be interested in doing the soundtrack for the PRISON BREAK series in Belgium (Europe). Kaye Styles accepted the offer and made the song ‘Prison Break Anthem’ … Prison Break Anthem hit the stores and entered the sales charts at n 40 , jumped to 11 and peaked at nr. 3. It stayed in the top 10 for 14 weeks and became the second biggest airplay hit in Belgium 2006. 'Prison Break Anthem' appeared on his third album.

Kaye Styles recorded his 3rd album 'Main Event' containing the following singles 'I want you back' featuring Infamous Mobb, 'Prison Break Anthem', 'Cheat on you' featuring Black Cherry, 'Survivor', ‘I love to Party’ & ‘Don’t Cry' featuring Johnny Logan, (3 time Eurovision Song Contest winner). Both of them became top 10 songs. The last single Kaye Styles released for the Main Event album was ‘Cheat on you’. This song also reached the top 20 billboard charts. He got nominated for the third time at the MTV Belgian music awards (best R&B , best video, best national artist 2006).

After touring all over Europe in the beginning of 2007, Kaye Styles decided that the U.S and the Caribbean countries should be the new musical adventure they should aim for. Kaye Styles' purchased his contract from the record company and they start his own Company ‘KSTWORLDCLASS’. Kaye Styles recorded his 4th album ‘First Born’ ( Release April 25, 2008 ) and worked with Producers from New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles and teamed up with Tariq L and Akon for his latest hit single 'Shawty'.
